Beautiful Barbados

One of the island’s newest five-star resort additions – St Peter’s Bay is the address for prestigious waterfront living on the fabled Barbados Riviera.

Nestled on 4 acres of Barbados’ Platinum Coast and boasting a limited edition collection of private residences, St Peters Bay ticks all the essential ‘castaway living’ boxes – a pristine beachfront location, clear blue waters and a refined collection of leisure amenities. The resort is a small-scale, boutique affair: just fifty-seven luxury homes, including six spectacular penthouse suites and three deluxe penthouse suites enjoy a secluded waterfront setting fringed by tropical greenery, lush landscaped gardens and shady terraces. A 160ft freeform pool and gazebo border the beach, with a private SPB water taxi to whisk you up to nearby bustling Speightstown for lunch.

In addition, owners have access to a dedicated in-house lifestyle management service offering a bespoke range of services from restaurant and flight reservations to excursion planning, in-residence dining and housekeeping. For that added touch of pampering, a select number of berths have also been secured for SPB owners at the soon-to-be-completed Port Ferdinand Marina on the north-west coast. Golf aficionados meanwhile, can purchase a playing card at the exclusive Apes Hill Golf Club, just a short drive from the resort.

Second-Home Heaven

Residences at SPB have been meticulously designed and stylishly appointed to provide a sophisticated level of elegant comfort. Three-bedroom properties feature approximately 2,700 square feet of living space, including a master suite and two en-suite bedrooms, outsize terraces and spa pools, state-of-the-art kitchens with laundry area and bathrooms with white washed cedar and coral mouldings. Deluxe penthouses provide approximately 6,330 square feet of space including a spectacular master suite with large walk through dressing area and bathroom, three additional en-suite bedrooms, a terrace bar and private roof deck with full-size pool serviced by a dumb waiter from the kitchen below, a state-of-the art media room and home office. Prices start from .4m for a three-bedroom residence rising to upwards of .75m for a top floor, four-bed penthouse with roof deck and Jacuzzi pool. On-site management includes comprehensive maintenance and operation of all common areas and buildings, pool and grounds servicing and estate security as well as insurance for buildings and common property.

Building Momentum

Saint Peter’s Bay has unquestionably raised the bar for luxury resort living on the island to become one of the Caribbean’s premier destinations. The project however, is also putting its footprint to good use serving as a part of an overall master plan for future development projects, notably on the north-westerly reaches of the island. Charismatic businessman and property developer Bjorn Bjerkhamn (the force behind SPB’s creation) is refining a blueprint for this area, which will include a fresh wave of luxury developments with complementary amenities and services. Projects in the pipeline include the ultra-luxe Palazzate, Port Ferdinand Marina, and the provision of new leisure facilities in Historic Speightstown. Says Bjerkhamn: “This development momentum is not only creating real potential for a healthy increase in property values at Saint Peter’s Bay, it’s also assuring a vibrant local environment into the future. The next chapter in luxury living has begun.”
